Today's entry is more mystery set-up. It's almost entirely dialogue, but for the first time that's not because I was lazy, but rather because I was strapped for time. I only had a couple hours to sit down and write today, so I threw out whatever I could. OKAY. God, this always happens. I give myself a total word count for the day (today it was 3k--1.5 in the morning and 1.5 at night) and it's like pulling teeth, right up until I'm about 200 words away, at which point I hit the part in the scene that I am dying to write and end up zooming through an additional 1k or so ( Read more... )

Okay, so yesterday my aunt took me out for cocktails and I got trashed and couldn't write. To make up for it, I wrote about 1700 words this afternoon and plan to write another 1500+ tonight after I eat a little more (all I've done today is eat), even though I'm still a day ahead as far as word count goes. Today posed three interesting problems: For one, I had no motivation to do anything but sit around watching teevee. I wrote less than yesterday, but still more than the daily minimum.
